Meet the Owners
Blue Sky Roofing and Exteriors is family-run, top to bottom: a third-generation roofer and a Mayfield native, running the business together.
Wes is a Mayfield native, born into this trade. His grandfather started the family roofing business in 1947, and Wes was already working alongside him before he turned 12, traveling across the South learning both commercial and residential roofing firsthand. Over more than 40 years, he's led crews on everything from thirty-minute repairs to six-month commercial jobs, including hurricane disaster-relief work after Hugo, Ivan, Katrina, and Michael.

Mary Ellen grew up in a Mayfield family steeped in advertising, and spent years teaching before following her father and grandfather into the family trade at the Mayfield Messenger. After the 2021 tornado reshaped the community she'd spent her career serving, she found a new way to help her neighbors: co-founding Blue Sky Roofing and Exteriors to help rebuild Western Kentucky, one roof at a time.

Do you work directly with my insurance company?
Yes. Our drone inspections produce detailed photo and video documentation built for insurance claims, so your adjuster has exactly what they need to see.
What are your hours, and do you cover emergencies?
Our office is open Monday–Friday 8am–5pm and Saturday 8am–12pm. For active leaks or storm damage outside those hours, our emergency response line is available 24/7.
Do you handle both residential and commercial roofs?
Both. Residential shingle, metal, and slate roofing, plus commercial TPO, PVC, modified bitumen, and standing seam metal systems.
Will you push me toward a full replacement?
No. We run repair-first. If a repair will effectively solve the problem, that's what we'll recommend. We only propose replacement when it's genuinely the better option.
